A Memorial Service for Martha Kendall Holmes was held July 12, 2011, 1:00 p.m. at the First Unitarian Church, 600 N.W. 13th Street, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Martha Hayden Kendall Holmes was born August 5, 1945, in Sayre, Oklahoma, to Martha Hayden and James Melton Kendall and died June 27, 2011. She grew up in Sayre, Oklahoma, and graduated from Sayre High School in 1963. On September 11, 1965, she married Fred Holmes of Sayre, Oklahoma.
Martha was preceded in death by her parents, Marie and James, her husband, Fred and her sister, Norma Jean. She is survived by her life partner Tedd Fulp, her niece, Marquita Lopez and her husband Tony, several cousins, numerous long term friends, and her beloved and faithful dogs Buddy and Gypsy. Martha was blessed with the ability to develop and maintain friendships. She will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved her.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorials be made to some of Martha’s favorite causes: Parents Assistance Center, Coalation to Abolish the Death Penalty, and the Scholarship fund at the University of Oklahoma School of Social Work.
