Gene Thomas Sewell, 79, St. Joseph, Missouri died Monday, November 28, 2011 at Heartland Regional Medical Center.
He was born February 29, 1932 in Reydon, Oklahoma to Everett and Minnie (Miller) Sewell.
Gene was the founder of the February 29th Birthday Club in Los Altos, California. He enjoyed the northern California coast, classic cars and loved working as a barber for over fifty years, having very loyal customers. He was a member of the Barber Union and the Foursaquare Church. Gene loved helping and assisting others. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Jack Sewell; sister, Lahoma Wheeler; grandson, Andrew.
Survivors: his son, Steven (Melissa) Sewell, St. Joseph, Missouri; daughter, Debra Sewell, California, long-time friend and mother of his children, Ramona Hardy, California; grandchildren, Mike, Mark, Dan, Samatha, Jacob, good friend, JoAnn Parrott; several nieces and nephews; and many extended family and friends in Oklahoma, Texas, California, and Missouri.
