VAUGHAN, Herbert “Junior”

Junior Vaughan’s graveside services were Tuesday, August 18th at Durham. It was a memorable and beautiful service. The clear skies and the wind swept prairie provided a view for miles and miles and miles in all directions. His constant companion and friend, his dog, Rowdy, was seated on the front row amongst a large crowd of family, friends and coworkers. His eulogy was of his lifelong love of John Wayne and Johnny Cash. A Boy Named Sue was played in the background. Go Rest High on That Mountain and Simple Man were rendered by a soloist and guitarist. The group was asked to repeat the 23rd Psalm and the Lord’s Prayer.
It was a simple and heartfelt service. Anyone who knew the kind spirit of Junior was blessed to have been present and been a part of his memorial. He was laid to rest beside his mother, Mary at Fairview Cemetery.
