Jerry Ervin White was born October 9, 1935 in Dustin, Oklahoma to Opal Stella and Jerry Harvey White. He passed away November 4, 2016 at Elk City, Oklahoma at the age of 81 years and 25 days.

Jerry moved with his family to Elk City as a young child in 1944 and later to Cheyenne in 1952. In 1955 the family moved back to the Elk City area where he graduated from Merritt High School. After graduation Jerry continued to help his father farm until 1969 when he was married to Glenda Pricilla (McCamon) White at Elk City, Oklahoma on March 1st. Jerry and Glenda moved to Oklahoma City where he worked for the city of Oklahoma City and later Sooner Box Company. They returned to Elk City in 1977 where they made their home and Jerry went to work in the oil field. It wasn’t until the early 90’s that Jerry got out of the oil field and went to work for Atwoods. In 1993 Jerry began working for Walmart and continued until his retirement in 2005. After Glenda’s passing on August 30, 2004, he met Lou Carpenter and they were eventually married on July 4, 2005. Together they remained in Elk City where they shared and enjoyed retirement together. Jerry enjoyed fishing, playing his guitar, singing, tinkering with projects outdoors and spending time with his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, both wives, one brother, Virgil White and 3 sisters, Irene Hill, Mayo Scott Graybil and Jerline Clavarie.

He is survived by his daughter, Gina Smith and husband, Heath, Martha, OK; 2 grandchildren, Logan Smith, Okmulgee, OK and Colton Smith, Martha, OK; 2 sisters, Wanda McConnell, Medford, OR and Carolyn Thompson and husband, Johnny, Elk City, OK; 2 brothers, Jack White and wife, Carian, and Billy White and wife, Lynda, both of Elk City, OK; 2 step daughters, Bonnie Lathrom and husband, Scott Dotter and Ginger Baker and husband, Rex, all of Butler, OK and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services on Friday, November 11 at 2:30 in the Gateway Church, Elk City. Burial at Sayre Doxey Cemetery.
