DAVIS, William Alanson

Last rites for William Alanson Davis, who died following a heart attack Sunday at is home northwest of Meridian, were held Tuesday at the Meridian School auditorium. He was born November 3, 1891 in Siloam Springs, Arkansas and came to Indian Territory in 1900. He died October 5, 1952. He was converted in 1917 and was a long time member of the Methodist Church. He was a member of the Erick Masonic Lodge. He was married to Pearl Mona Cox, April 21, 1916 in Sweetwater He was a farmer and rancher by occupation
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Pearl Davis  of the home address; two daughters, Mrs. Theota Dowdell of Sayre and Mrs. Ada Ruth Diggs of Sweetwater; five sons: Wayne Davis, Russell Davis, Jay Davis all of Sweetwater, Waddell Davis of the home address and Harley Davis of Shamrock, Texas; three sisters, Mrs. Leila Houston of Clinton, Mrs. Mary Guinn of Elk City and Mrs. Carrie Potter of Pampa, Texas; one brother, Joe Davis of Sweetwater; nine grandchildren. The Rev. Otto Atkins officiated at the services. Burial was in the Mulberry Cemetery, Sweetwater, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma with the Erick Masonic Lodge in charge of the graveside rites.
