Funeral services for Jimmy Gayle Day of Lakeview, Arkansas, were held June 124, 2012, at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel, Mountain Home, with Gene McCoy, minister.
Jimmy passed away June 10, 2012, in Lakeview, Arkansas at the age of 79. He was born January 14, 1933, in Camargo, Oklahoma, the son of Jim and Mildred Coursey Day. He married Elloise Haney on December 12, 2003, at Yellville, Arkansas and worked as The Suprintendent of Streets for the City of Pomona, California. Jimmy was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. Jimmy lived in Lakeview, Arkansas since 1983 moving from Pomona, California. He was a life member of the VFW Post 1381.
Jimmy is survived by his wife, Elloise Day; 2 brothers, Verlin (Wilma) Day of Vici, OK, Ray (Bonnie) Day of Camargo, OK; 4 sisters, Ileta Allen of Vici, OK, Arlene (Landon) Mercer of Kingdfisher, OK, Linda Newton of Parsons, KS, and Kay (Russell) Salisbury of Cheyenne, OK.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife, Virginia Jones Day.
Burial was held in the Kirby’s Tucker Memorial Cemetery. Military Honors was provided by the Hovel-Barnett VFW Post #1341 of Bull Shoals. Arrangements were by Kirby andFamily Funeral and Cremation Service.
