Bobbie Ruth Nix was born December 19, 1930 in Mayfield, Oklahoma to Viola Theresa and Richard Delton Gordon. She passed away December 1, 2011 at Amarillo, Texas at the age of 89 years, 11 months, 12 days.
Bobbie graduated from Sweetwater High School. She was married to William Marshall Nix at New York, New York, on July 31, 1951. They remained in New York until moving to Tulsa, Oklahoma. They later lived in several towns in the Texas Panhandle and west Texas until 1994 when they moved to Columbus, New Mexico. After Marshall passed away, Bobbie moved to Amarfillo, Texas to be near her son.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one son, Stephen Marshall Nix.
Survivors include her son, Scott Nix, Amarillo, TX; 2 grandchildren, Andrea Dawn Carpenter, Tulsa, OK and Michelle Renee Boyce, Skiatook, OK; 3 great grandchildren, one sister, Betty Tipton of Borger, TX; one sister-in-law, Bernice Jones of Elgin, OK as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, December 5, 2011 at the Erick Chruch of Christ with Chris Gordon officiating.
Burial followed in the Buffalo Cemetdery under the direction of Fatheree-Albert Funeral Home. Condolences can be made online at www.whineryfs.com
