Joe Marie Louise Shirley, 89, of Sayre died Saturday, August 19, 1900 in Whittier, Calif. Funeral services will be Thursday at 2:30 p.m. in the Berlin Methodist Church with Frank Mitchell and Gary Davidson and Ed Ivester officating. Burial will be in the Berlin Cemetery, Berlin, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral service of Sayre. Joe, daughtger of Robert and Daisy Hester was born Aug. 1, 1900 in Barnum, Texas. She moved with her parents to Oklahoma in 1905 and to the Berlin community in 1907. She married William Lester Shirley May 18, 1926 in Sayre and they lived in Berlin. In 1966 she moved to Whittier to near her daughter. She is a member of the Berlin Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, huband, and three sons. She is survived by one daughter, Dorothy May Clemmer, Whittier, Calif.; 6 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; one brother, Robert Hester, Hobart; one sister, May Hughes, Cordell; one daughter-in-law, Velma Shirley, Sayre.
