PARKER, Rodney

Rodney Parker was born June 19, 1953 in Socorro, New Mexico to Ella Bernice and Frank Roy “Buck” Parker. He passed away December 26, 2015 at the age of 62 years, six months and seven days. Rodney grew up in Hereford, Texas where he attended school. After high school, he obtained his associates degree in Refrigeration and Physics and traveled around following his work in construction, roofing and milking cows. He was later married to Cynthia Parker on May 27, 2006 at Sweetwater, Oklahoma and they made their home in the Sweetwater community. Rodney enjoyed fishing, camping and spending time with his family and friends and especially around bonfires.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Frank, Richard and Cecil; 1 sister, Louise Perry, 1 great nephew, Keith Dunlap and 1 niece, Kim Boswell.
He is survived by his wife, Cynthia of the home; six children, David Eugene Martin, Roy Dean Parker, and Chevi Sue Parker of Lubbock, Texas, Katelynn Bernice Parker, Karol Ann Parker and Klyde William Parker of the home; ex-wife Laura Parker, five grandchildren, three sisters, Helen Noyse, Hereford, TX, Elsie Duggins and husband, Franklin, Joseph City, AZ and Donna Morley and husband, Adrian, Lovington, NM; one brother, Monroe Parker and wife, Ellen of Oklahoma City, OK and a host of other relatives and friends.
Memorial services were held Saturday, January 9, 2016 at Sweetwater Baptist Church at 2:00 p.m.
