The death of Grandma Payne occurred in this city Tuesday night, December 26, 1916, due to dropsy, after an illness of only about seven weeks, which is considered a very brief period for this disease.
Mrs. Payne has been a resident of this county for a number of years and during that time she has endeared herself to many because of her beautiful life.
Four sons and one daughter remain to mourn her loss, her husband having preceded her to the grave. The remains were taken to Arnett to the bereaved.
