Mary White Price, 73, of Pampa, Texas passed away Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at Childers Place Hospice in Amarillo, Texas.
Memorial Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 31, 2015 at her long-term church, Mary Ellen and Harvester Church of Christ in Pampa, with Keith Feerer, her beloved pastor, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.
Mary was born on January 11, 1942 in Wheeler to Jess and Mary Garner Hartley. She was one of eight children. She graduated high school at Reydon, OK. She married her high school sweetheart Billy Eugene “Gene” White of nearby Crawford on November 23, 1960 at Cheyenne, OK. He preceded her in death on May 1, 1995. Gene and Mary lived and raised their two children in Mobeetie. After Gene’s passing, Mary moved to Pampa. She worked several years in the banking and insurance industries and most recently worked as a house parent at the Genesis House Youth Home where she retired in 2008. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Patsy Hartley in 1969 and a brother, Ted Hartley in 1990.
Mary is survived by two children: her daughter, Linda Dyson and husband Jerry of Panhandle; and her son, Caroll White and wife Debbie of Mobeetie; three grandchildren, Libby Dyson of Houston, Dusty White and wife Katie of Amarillo and Clay White of Mobeetie; two great-grandchildren, Myles and Lila White of Amarillo; two sisters, Jessie Lee Brown of Arnett, OK and Nancy Allen of Crawford, OK; and three brothers Joe Hartley of Phoenix, AZ, Tom Hartley of Oklahoma City and Roy Hartley of Reydon, OK.
