STEERE, S.R.

S.R. Steere of this city died February 14, 1933 at the home of his son, Scott Steere, after an illness of about three weeks due to a stroke of paralysis that affected his right side. He lingered for over a week in a state of unconsciousness, before the end came on Tuesday of this week.
Mr. Solon R. Steere was born October 21, 1861 and came to Oklahoma over twenty  years ago from the State of Kansas where he came with his parents when a small boy. He moved to Cheyenne in 1926, and had made this city his home until the time of his death.
Mr. Steere has been in poor health for a number of years and especially this winter he has been very feeble.
Since coming to Cheyenne he endeared himself to those with whom he came in contact, until he numbered his friends by the score.
He became a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge at Eagle City, twenty  years ago and was a faithful and enthusiastic member until the end. The Cheyenne Lodge conducted the funeral ceremony peculiar to that order after the funeral sermon delivered by Rev. H.H. Cody.
Mr. Steere leaves to mourn his loss, a widow, two sons, Scott and Harold of this city and a daughter, of Kansas, all of whom were at his bedside at the time of his passing. He also leaves a number of grandchildren.
