Funeral Services for Robert Allen Wood were held Thursday, January 16, 1997 at 2:00 p.m. in the Martin Funeral Chapel with Rev. Lonnie Forrester and Rev. Phil Rhynerson officiating.
Robert, the son of Charles A. and Ruth (Guy) Wood, was born August 15, 1937 in Oklahoma City and passed away Monday, January 13, 1997 at the age of 59 years.
The family lived near the Grimes Community. Robert graduated from the Berlin High School and attended Southwestern State College where he earned his degree in teaching and majored in business. His first teaching job was in the Broxton, OK School system. He taught school in Lamar, CO for twelve years. He later taught at Burns Flat and Carter from where he retired. The family has made their home in Elk City since 1981.
He is survived by his wife, Minnie of the Elk City home; his mother Ruth Wood of Elk City; two sons, Gregory and Jeffory Wood both of Elk City; one aunt, Kate Bowman of Bartlesville, OK
He was preceded in death by his father, C.A. Wood. Burial was in the Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Martin Funeral Home.
