BLACKKETTER, Joe

Joe Blackketter was born January 29, 1974 in Stroud, Oklahoma, two minutes behind his identical twin brother. He passed away at the Oklahoma Heart Hospital in Oklahoma City on March 30, 2015 at the age of 41.
In 1981 he moved to Leedey where he was raised on the farm by his dad. Along with his brother, he hauled hay and played baseball. Throughout his life he loved to hunt, fish and camp. He enjoyed playing on a pool league and playing softball. He graduated from Leedey High School in 1992 and worked for a time at the Leedey Co-op. He then moved to Canute where he began his career as a welder in the oilfield.
On June 6, 2000 he became a dad when his daughter Katy Jo was born. He enjoyed spending time with her and with their dog Buster.
Services were Saturday, April 4th at Martin-Dugger Funeral Home in Elk City, Oklahoma. He was laid to rest in the Canute Cemetery.
Mr. Blackketter is survived by his daughter Katy Jo of Elk City, he dad Lee Blackketter and his wife, Donita of Leedey, his identical twin Bub and his wife Tina along with their children Kyle, Shaina and Sam all of Canute. He is also survived by his mother Terry Harrell and her husband Dale of Canute.
