Funeral services for Helen Brookshire were held Tuesday, January 20, 1997 at 10:00 a.m. in the Martin Funeral Chapel, Elk City with Rodney Minor officiating.
Ilda Helen, the daughter of Joe and Alta (Eggleston) Barnes, was born January 15, 1905 in Berlin, OK and passed away Saturday, January 18, 1997 at the age of 91.
On February 10, 1923 she married Ross L. Brookshire and they made their home in the Berlin area until 1981 when they moved to Elk City. Helen had been a longtime member of the Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ross, on April 19, 1994.
Survivors include two sons, Wayne Brookshire of Cherry Valley, CA and Gale Brookshire of Elk City; three grandchildren, Bradley Brookshire and wife, Bobbie, Robbin Lantz and husband, David and Candace Schneberger and husband, David; and five great grandchildren.
Burial was in the Berlin Cemetery under the direction of Martin Funeral Home of Elk City.
Elk City Daily News
