Mrs. Mollie M. Burks, Reydon, died at her home October 1, 1964 following an extended illness. Funeral services were held in the Reydon community building on Sunday with Rev. Lynn Heard and Rev. Billy Wheeler officiating.
Born March 27, 1888 in Houston, Texas, Mrs. Burks came to western Oklahoma in 1914. She was married September 20, 1914 to Ben L. Burks at Hamburg, Oklahoma. She was a member of the Baptist Church. She had resided in the Reydon community for a half century.
Her husband preceded her in death in 1930; also a son, Ernie C. Burks.
Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Grace Crabtree, Elk City and Mrs. Martha DeLamater of Fullerton, California; two step daughters Mrs. Fern Trash of Jefferson City, Missouri and Mrs. E.M. Payne, Flint, Michigan; four sons, Paul and Pete, of Reydon, Charles H. of Cushing, OK, Bennie of Dumas, Texas; one sister, Mrs. Grace Richardson of Reydon; 12 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Committal was in the White Rose Cemetery of Reydon with Scroggins and Son in charge of arrangements.
