Cody Carpenter was born June 30, 1938 in Elk City, Oklahoma to Edmund and
Johnnie Belle (Parks) Carpenter. He passed away September 6, 2016 at Elk City,
Oklahoma at the age of 78 years, 2 months and 6 days.

Clifford grew up north of Elk City on the Carpenter Ranch and graduated from
Hammon High School. He continued his education at Panhandle A&M in
Goodwell, Oklahoma before enlisting in the US Navy. After his discharge, he
returned to western Oklahoma where he met Anita Loyd and they were married on
January 10, 1962 in Hammon, Oklahoma. Clifford re-enlisted in the Navy and they
lived in Florida for several months before moving back to Elk City. They later
moved west of Elk City in 1970 to make their home. Clifford farmed before going
to work for Kelly Dairy for a short time. He later drove a truck cross country,
worked in the oilfield and at Miraglio Pontiac before starting a Pumping
Service, all the while he also continued to farm and ranch. Clifford loved the
outdoors, tending his cattle that carried the bloodline of his father’s cattle
herd and feeding the turkeys and deer that visited his farm.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a son-in-law, Billy Bankston.

He is survived by his wife, Anita Faye, of the home; 3 daughters, Pam Parman
and husband, Gale Bert, Elk City, OK, Paula Brown and husband, Jerry,
Chattanooga, OK, Teresa Kilhoffer and husband, Kelly, Elk City, OK; his
grandchildren, Cody Kilhoffer, Sayre, OK, Grant Bankston, Aspen, CO, Randall
Parman and wife, Brittany, Bixby, OK, Ali Brown, Oklahoma City, OK, Jaime
Brown, Roosevelt, AZ, Kelsey Kilhoffer, Elk City, OK, Mandy Brown, Chattanooga,
OK; a great granddaughter, Tipper Parman, Bixby, OK, his brothers and sisters,
Frank Carpenter and wife, Scharleen, Sayre, OK, John Carpenter, Hammon, OK,
Daniel Carpenter, Elk City, OK, Cynthia Carpenter, Jenks, OK, Charles Carpenter
and wife, LaCindra, Hammon, OK, Belinda Sullivan, Elk City, OK, Russell
Carpenter, Okarche, OK; a special sister-in-law, Mary Fern Carpenter, Elk City,
OK; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Services will be held on
Saturday, September 10, 2016 at 1
:00 p.m. at Elk City United Methodist Church with burial at Grandview Cemetery.
