Jackie Laverne Carter, 80 of Sayre, Oklahoma was born on December 11, 1934 in Elk City, Oklahoma. He is the son of Bub and Laura (Blackburn)Carter. Jack went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, December 7, 2015 at Saint Anthony’s Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Jack proudly served his country in the United States Army. He enjoyed music, gardening and fishing. Most of all Jack enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
He attended and graduated from Berlin High School, Berlin, Oklahoma in 1953. He married his best friend and sweetheart Oleta Skelton Woodard in 1957. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, December 11, 2015 at Fairlawn Cemetery in Elk City, Oklahoma. Services have been entrusted to the care of Martin-Dugger Funeral Home in Elk City, Oklahoma.
Jack is survived by his brother, Bill Carter of Elk City, Oklahoma; brother-in-law, Bill Skelton and his wife Larayne of Elk City, Oklahoma; step-son, Richard Woodard of Texas; four step-grandchildren; and numerous step-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Bub and Laura Carter and his wife, Oleta Skelton Woodard.
