Mildred Small Chalfant was born July 22, 1922 in Strong City, Oklahoma to Ralph and Helen Clark Small. She passed away February 5, 2011 in Edmond, Oklahoma at the age of 88 years, 6 months and 14 days.
Mildred graduated from Strong City High School in 1940. She was married to Billy T. Chalfant in Clinton, Oklahoma on December 14, 1941 and they made their home in Cheyenne. Mildred retired after 31 years of employment with the United States Postal Service in Cheyenne.
She was a member of the Cheyenne First Baptist Church and was a member of the Sorosis Club.
Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters, one brother and one granddaughter.
She is survived by her husband, Billy; 1 Daughter, Ann Chalfant Soper, Edmond, Oklahoma; 1 Granddaughter, Cara Wynn, Edmond, Oklahoma; 3 Great grandchildren, Jordyn, Jonathan, and James Wynn, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services were held at Cheyenne First Baptist Church, Saturday February 12 1:30 P.M. interment was in the Cheyenne Cemetery, Cheyenne, Oklahoma under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service.
