CLARK, Ray

Ray Clark, 87, of Hammon, Oklahoma was born on July 2, 1927 in Elk City, Oklahoma. He was the son of J.H. “Butch” and Josephine (Kern) Clark. Ray passed away on Saturday, April 18, 2015 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He graduated from Hammon High School, Class of 1945 and then attended Oklahoma A&M College. Ray met and married his best friend and sweetheart, Bonnie Lucille Payne on May 30, 1948 in Shamrock, Texas. He served his country in the United States Army as an artillery man stationed at West Point.
Ray worked in the cattle trucking business and bought his first truck in 1960, then his brother, Jimmy became a partner later. His son James Lee also became a partner in the cattle trucking business. He enjoyed farming and trading cattle. Ray bought cattle from Louisiana, Arkansas, Alabama, Texas, Tennessee and Oklahoma.
His hobbies were going to cattle sales, buying cattle, trade shows with his son, James and spending time with his family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at Martin-Dugger Funeral Home in Elk City, Oklahoma. Brother Larry Parvin will officiate. Interment will be at Red Hill Cemetery, Hammon, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of Martin-Dugger Funeral Home in Elk City, Oklahoma.
He is survived by his wife of sixty-seven wonderful years, Bonnie Clark of Hammon, Oklahoma; daughter-in-law, Vicki Clark of Hammon, Oklahoma; five grandchildren, Ritchie Clark, Michael Clark, and Chad Clark all of Hammon, Oklahoma; Jamie Moler and her husband, Matt, Brandi Coker and her husband, R.J. all of Cheyenne, Oklahoma; eleven great grandchildren, Chandler McCrary and her husband, Byron of Elk City, Oklahoma; Orion Clark; Drae Clark; Chelsea Clark and Brice Clark all of Hammon, Oklahoma; Colton Moler and his wife, Nicole of Seiling, Oklahoma; Carlee Moler, Tanner Leach and Kimbree Leach, Macy Coker and Mackenzie Coker all of Cheyenne, Oklahoma.
Ray is preceded in death by his two sons: James Lee Clark and Monty Ray Clark; parents, J.H. “Butch” and Josephine Clark; sisters, Virginia Rector and Nadine Burke; brother, Jimmy Clark and three nieces.
