Memorial services for Homer Ray Conway were conducted at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, September 9, 2010 at the Church of God in Murphy, Oklahoma. Interment followed at the Hogan Cemetery in Locus Grove. Servbices were entrusted to the Locust Grove Funeral Home.
Homer Ray Conway was born on June 4, 1931 in Cheyenne, Oklahoma to Clarence Ollie and Ibra (Hensley) Conway. He died Monday, September 6, 2010 in Pryor, Oklahoma. He was 79. Ray grew up and went to school in the Cheyenne area. On February 4, 1950 in Ponca City, Ray married Georgie (Kennedy) Conway, later years was married to Reba Saffell. Having lived in Pryor for sometime, Ray and his family made Murphy their home in 1967. He was part of the Murphy Church of God. He enjoyed gardening, where he worked raising vegetsables. He also enjoyed fishing and relaxing while watching western movies or reading a good western novel. Most of all he was a good father that loved his family dearly and enjoyed playing with his grandchildren. He will be missed by all that knew him.
Ray is survived by his wife, Reba of the home; sons Danny Conway and wife Jean, Rose, Oklahoma, Tony Conway and wife Toni, Pegs, Oklahoma, Ronnie Conway and wife Lori, Rose, Oklahoma; daughter Anne Marie Parker and husband Dean, Salina, Oklahoma; two step-daughters Michele Rogers and husband Jeff, Locust Grove, Oklahoma and Lynn Reynolds and husband Kenny, Pryor, Oklahoma; 16 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; nieces and nephews of Cheyenne, Oklahoma and Amarillo, Texas and a host of friends.l
Ray was preceded in death by his parents, son William (Billy) Ray Conway, brother Clarence Junior Conway, sister Imogene (Conway) Binion, grandchildren Danny and Teresa Conway, daughter-in-law Sheila Cnway and great grandson Cody Conway.
