Cornett, Wanda Marie Bentley

Wanda Marie Cornett, 85, of Albany, Oregon passed away Tuesday at Riverbend Hospital in Eugene, Oregon. Funeral services for Wanda will be held at the Sayre Church of Christ on Saturday, May 5, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. with Tom Harguess officiating. Interment will follow at Shirley Cemetery northwest of Leedey, Oklahoma under the direction of the Martin Funeral Home of Elk City, OK. Wanda was born in Garvin County, Oklahoma to Ben & Beulah (Burch) Bentley. She grew up in Leedey, Okla., and graduated from Liberty Center High School. On Nov. 3, 1948, she married James D. Cornetty in Hammon, Okla. The couple made their home in Sayre and Stillwater, Okla., for a short time. They spent many years on Indian Reservations throughout the Western States. In 1971 they moved to Warm Springs. After retirement in 1981 they moved to Albany to be near their son. Wanda was preceded in death by her parents; brother Jay Bentley; and an infant sister.
She is survived by her husband, James Cornett of Albany; son Phil Cornett of Salem; sisters Maxine Allen of Stockton, Calif., Marjorie Patton and husband Bill of Elk City, Okla., Betty Jean Crodum and husband Delbert of Elk City, Okla., Glenda Tomberlin and husband Billy Ray of Alva, Okla., and June Herndon and husband Wendell of Cordell, Okla.
