Jackie Lynn Couch was born January 26, 1946 in Wheeler, Texas to Albert Russell “Buck” Couch and Ina Jewell (Kelley) Couch. He grew up on the 14 Ranch in Crawford, Oklahoma and Lemmon, South Dakota
Jackie rode running horses for Walter Merrick in Crawford, Oklahoma, Ruidoso, New Mexico and Raton, New Mexico. His favorite sport was always bull riding in which he rode for 13 years. Jackie worked on several ranches and also broke and trained horses. He was an avid team roper and a member of the Cheyenne Roping Club and the U.S. Team roping Championships.
Jackie was married to Marcella Karen (Lee) Couch on September 7, 1994 in Flambeau, South Dakota. Together they enjoyed traveling the western states and Canada following his job. He was a heavy equipment operator and retired from Moore County in Dumas, Texas before moving back to Oklahoma in 1995. Jackie owned his own welding business and also worked for Roger Mills County District 3 in Crawford, Oklahoma.
He loved spending time with his kids, grandkids, family and friends. Jackie liked to fish and ride 4-wheelers along with country music and played drums, guitar and just recently taught himself to play the bass guitar.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister-in-law, Sue Couch.
He is survived by his wife, Marcella, of the home: 1 son, Troy Couch and wife, Jennifer of Colorado; two daughters, Tammy Couch and Traysha Couch both of Erick, OK; four grandchildren, Vincent Couch, Sydney Couch, Travis Brittain and Macy Moler; two great grandchildren, Ivory and Skyla Couch, three step children, Laverne Hartley, Ladonna Plemons and husband, Dennis of Sweetwater, OK and Brenda Hartley of Cheyenne, OK; eight step grandchildren, Andrea, Angel and husband, Michael, Rowdy, Travis, Brandon, Jennifer and husband, Mike, Kyle and Kody; 18 step great grandchildren; two brother, Benny Couch, Erick, OK and Hughy Couch, Dempsey, OK; one sister, JoJo Couch, Erick, OK and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services will be held on Wednesday May 27 at 2:00 in the Reydon Community Building with burial in the White Rose Cemetery, Reydon, OK conducted by Whinery Rose Chapel.
