Florence Merene Damron, 99 ,of Elk City, Oklahoma was born on May 8, 1916 in McKinney, Texas. She is the daughter of Ernest and Clellia (Sullivan) Lowry. Florence went to be with her Heavenly Father on Tuesday, September 15, 2015 at her residence in Elk City, Oklahoma.
Florence married her best friend and sweetheart, Cecil Wilbert Damron on December 2, 1933 in Herring, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on November 23, 2000.
She enjoyed reading, sewing, and quilting, but most of all she loved spending time with her friends and family.
Florence was a member of the Elk City Community Church in Elk City, Oklahoma. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, September 19, 2015 at Elk City Community Church in Elk City, Oklahoma. Pastor Judy Timms will officiate. Interment will be at Berlin Cemetery in Berlin, Oklahoma. Services have been entrusted to the care of Martin-Dugger Funeral Home in Elk City, Oklahoma.
Florence is survived by two daughters, Arneeta Gordon and her husband Freddie of Elk City, Oklahoma and Sharon White and her husband, Dean of Red Oak, Oklahoma two sons, Dean Damron and his wife Joyce of Sayre, Oklahoma and Loren Damron and his wife, Betty of Cheyenne, Oklahoma; sister, Doris Woods of Fountain, Colorado, fourteen grandchildren twenty-three great-grandchildren and twenty-four great-great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Clellia Lowry, husband, Cecil, one son Jerry, two brothers and one sister
