Bessie Daugherty was bon November 27, 1917 in Roger Mills County, Oklahoma to Maudie and Elmer Greer Henson. She passed away Jauary 24, 2009 at Sayre, Oklahoma at the age of 91 years, 1 month and 27 days.
Bessie grew up in the Dempsey community and graduated Cheyenne High School. She was married to Earl W. Daugherty at Cheyenne, OK on March 13, 1937 aand thedsy made their home in the Dempsey area where they farmed. She was a member of the Dempsey Home Demostration Club and the Quilting Club. Bessie loved to make quilts for her family and friends.
Bessie was a member of the Cheyenne Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 1 sister, Gladys Daugherty, 1 granddaughter, Sheila Daugherty.
Servicesx were held January 27, 2009 at 2:00 pm ar Cheyenne Church of Christ officiated by Ray Smart. Burial fcollowed at Dempsey Cemetetry under the direction of RFose Chapel Funeral Service of Cheyenne. Condolences can be made online at www.martin-duggerfuneralhome.com
