Delbert L. Ivie
Delbert L. Ivie, 76, of Grants Pass, died Wednesday (Sept. 11, 2002) at Three Rivers Community Hospital in Grants Pass. A private service will be held.

He was born Feb. 14, 1926, in Cheyenne, Okla., to Emmitt and Myrtle Ivie. The family moved to Klamath Falls from Colorado in 1933, and to Grants Pass in the mid-1930s. He attended Grants Pass High School.

On June 4, 1948, in Grants Pass, he married Barbara J. Martt, who survives.

Mr. Ivie owned and operated Del’s Electrical in Grants Pass for more than 20 years.

He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1945 and was part of the 5-11th Paratroopers during World War II.

Mr. Ivie was a member of the West Coast Airborne Association.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a son, Kenneth, Grand Junction, Colo.; a daughter, Susan Collins, Central Point; a sister, Velma Ballinger, Grants Pass; a brother, Ronald, Grants Pass; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers.
