Ted Martin Estes was born January 7, 1929 in Reydon, Oklahoma to Mae and Forest Estes. he passed away January 15, 2014 at Alamogordo, New Mexico at the age of 85 years and 8 days.
Ted grew up north of Reydon, Oklahoma and attended school at Midway and Durham before enlisting in the US Army in 1947. He completed two tours of duty and after his discharge, he pursued his passion of automobiles and began his career in the automobile and truck businedss. Ted lived in several towns in Oklahoma, Texas and Missoureri before moving to New Mexico and lived in Alamogordo before moiving to Tularosa to make his home.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Rufus “Buzz” Estes and a niece, Karen Burton and 2 brothers-in-law, Pete Burks and Marvin Mixon.
He is survived by his 4 sisters, Patsy Burks, Reydon, OK, Jolene Keller, Corona, CA, Babe Estes Burton, Colorado Springs, CO and Rose Marie Mixon, Richmond, TX, his nieces and nephews, Bob Keller, Pam Burks, Suzie Hoover, Kathy Pounds, Cindy Mixon, Lori Collins, Cousins, Carrie Lovette and Gayle Yowell, Special friends, Del Peoples and wife, Linda, Lee Bryan, Lou Ann and Tiffany and a host of other friends.
Graveside services will be held Monday, January 20, 2014 at 1:00 pm at th White Rose Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service of Cheyenne. Condolences can be made online at www.whineryfs.com
