EWTON, Clarence

Funeral services for Clarence Ewton were held Saturday, May 10, 1997 at 10:00 a.m. in the Rose Chapel with Joe Peery officiating.
Clarence, the son of Effie and Joe Ewton, was born August 15, 1909 in Berlin, OK and passed away May 8, 1997 in the Sayre Memorial Hospital at the age of 87 years, eight months and 23 days.
Clarence married Faye Norris June 15, 1929. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church all of his life, becoming a member in the Berlin Methodist Church  as a small boy. He had belonged to the Methodist Church while living in New Iberia, LA and moving his membership when he returned to Sayre to the Sayre UMC where he has been active until his health failed.
Clarence was active in farming in the Berlin community for several years before moving to New Iberia, LA where he worked for Ashland Chemical Co. as a foreman in the production of carbon black. He enjoyed working with horses and playing golf. He returned to the Sayre community in 1969 where he lived the remainder of his life.
He was preceded in death by his parents wife, Faye, one daughter, one brother and one sister. He is survived by one daughter, Joy Kiener and husband, Dewitt of Sayre, OK; three grandsons, Lonnie Kiener and wife, Linda of Norman, OK, Joe Kiener and wife, Melody of Sayre, OK and Johnny Kiener of Elk City, OK; four great grandsons, Karl Kiener, Jason Kiener, Colby Kiener and Jacob Kiener.
Interment was in the Sayre Doxey Cemetery under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service.
