Francies, Joshua Matthew

Joshua Matthews Francies, 30, of Amarillo died Wednesday, September 7, 2011, in Hemphill County.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday in Southwest Church of Christ, 4515 Cornell St., with Brad Thompson officiating. Arrangements are by LaGrone-Blackburn Shaw Funeral Directors, Martin Road Chapel in Amarillo.
Josh was born November 19, 1980, in Amarillo. He graduated from River Road High School in 1999 and had worked for several years as a truck driver. He worked for BS Trucking of Crawford, Oklahoma, at the time of his death.
Josh, who was known by his closest family and friends as “Fat Boy,” loved the outdoors, hunting and fishing. Most of all he loved spending time with his family. He also loved the sand drags at the river. He was dearly loved and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Harvey Treglown, and his grandmother, Delores Teter.
Survivors include his father, John “Wiley” Francies of Graford; his mother, Sylvia Shannon and husband Tommy, Amarillo; two sisters, Crystal Tidwell and husband Joe of Dumas and Amanda Francies of Graford; a brother, Evan Whitlow of Amarillo; two stepbrothers, Brian Shannon and wife Carla and Roy Shannon, all of Amarillo; a stepsister, Cara Shannon of Amarillo; his grandparents, Joe and Marvin Francies of Possum Kingdom; two nephews, Austin and Carson Gross; a niece, Taylor Tidwell, and many loving aunts, uncles and cousins.
