Marvin John Gamble was born November 18, 1944 in Wichita, Kansas to Eunice (Males) and J.M. Gamble. He passed away March 15, 2012 at Cheyenne, Oklahoma at the age of 67 years, 3 months and 27 days.
Marvin moved with his parents to Erick and later Texola before graduating from Erick High School in 1963. He graduated from Cameron Junioir College and then attended Oklahoma State University. He entered the United States Navy and served his country during the Vietnam Conflict. After his discharge he graduated from Panhandle State College with a degree in Agriculture. He was married to Marlene Elizabeth (Brunson) at Amarillo, Texas on August 10, 1969. They moved to Texola and he began his teaching career at Sayre Junior College, Gotebo, Reydon, Dill City, Northwest Classen in Oklahoma City, Eldorado and Tyron, Oklahoma. They moved back home and he was principal in Erick while he helped his father on the family farm. Marvin then begin working for Haliburton for 10 years and was currently working for Bar/L Water Haulers.
He was a member of the Texola Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and one son, Timothy Aaron Gamble.
Survivors include his wife, Marlene, of the home; 1 son, John, and wife, Deana of Amarillo, TX; 2 daughters, Danyelle Gamble-Noland, and husband, Thomas, Albuquerque, NM, Andrea Chapman, and husband, Heath of Midwest City, OK; 1 sister, Mary Ellen Driscoll of Idalou, TX; 6 grandchildren, Tate Gamble, Bailey Chapman, Gabriel Noland, Heath Chapman, Jr., Callie Chapman, Elliott Chapman; 3 brothers-in-law, Franklin Brunson, Eldorado Springs, MO, Thomas Brunson, and wife, Julie, Alva, OK, Kinney Brunson, Amarillo, TX; 1 sister-in-law, Noreenia Brunson, Amarillo, TX, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services will be 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at the Erick First Baptist Church with Bro. Charlie Floyd officiating. Burial will follow at the Erick Cemetery under the direction of Fatheree-Albert Funeral Home. Online condolences can be made at www.whineryfs.com
