GOODWIN, Dan Luke

Dan Luke Goodwin, 57, died March 20, 2014 in Tulsa, OK. He was born to the late Dan Edward Goodwin and Ottie (Alexander) Goodwin on June 3, 1956 in Nowata, OK. Luke graduated from Stillwater High School in 1974 and received a BA in Psychology from Oklahoma State University in 1978. He received his JD degree from the University of Tulsa College of Law in 1982. He married Johnette Bolene of Stillwater, OK in 1975, and they moved to Tulsa, where they had two daughters and Luke practiced law. He is survived by his mother, Ottie A. Goodwin, of Jenks, OK; daughters Caitlin E. Goodwin of Stillwater, OK and Emily R. Goodwin of Hanover, NH; sister Suzanne Goodwin of Arlington, MA; sister Rebecca Rohlfing of Stillwater, OK; and brother J. Benjamin Goodwin of Athens, GA. He was preceded in death by his father, Dr. Dan E. Goodwin, of Stillwater, OK. Luke had a brilliant and voracious mind and a sweet and gentle spirit. He loved good food, intellectual banter and the NY Times Crossword Puzzle. He was a master of the law and Words with Friends, a connoisseur of cookbooks and comic books. He was a truly great cook. Luke was a beloved son, big brother, father and friend. His absence will be felt in good company, good food, and good times. A memorial service will be held at New Covenant Bible Church (4800 South Yukon, Tulsa, OK 74107) on Saturday, May 3, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make a donation in Luke’s name to the New Covenant Bible Church.
