Frankie M. Goodwin was born February 22, 1929 in the last log cabin in Durham, Oklahoma to Lena and Frank Hawkins. She passed away February 25, 2015 at Durham, Oklahoma at the age of 86 years and three days.
Frankie grew up in the Durham community and graduated from Durham High School in 1947. After graduation she was married to Thomas J. Goodwin at Sayre, Oklahoma on October 14, 1947. To this union were born five children: Thomas B., Bob, Peggy, Karen and Judy.
Frankie and Thomas were married sixty eight years starting life together in Durham. They lived in California and Florida while Tom was in the Navy. They moved to Amarillo, Texas and spent twelve years before moving to Canadian, Texas and eventually back to Durham in 1993 to make their home. Frankie enjoyed hosting big meals at her home and spending time with her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Lorene, Hugh, Mike and Jake, two grandsons, Tom Schwartz and Jesse Wampler and an infant son, Michael.
She is survived by her husband, Thomas J. Goodwin, of the home: five children, Thomas B. Goodwin and wife, Sheri, Cheyenne, OK; Bob Goodwin and wife, Sharron, Canadian, TX; Peggy Schwartz and husband, Charles, Durham, OK; Karen Goodwin, Brady TX and Judy Wampler and husband, Wade, Canadian, TX; twelve grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services will be held 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 28, 2015 in the Durham Community Building, Durham, OK with interment in the Fairview Cemetery east of Durham, OK.
