GRAYBILL, Naomi LaFata “Toots”

Naomi LaFata Graybill was born to Charles and Lillie Albright on July 1, 1921 in Roger Mills County. After her father’s death in 1930, her mother married Jim Flynt in 1932, who continued to raise Naomi. Naomi departed this life in Oklahoma City, OK on March 7, 2015 at the age of 93 years, eight months and six days.
Naomi was the youngest of nine children, raised in the Leedey area, attending Pie Flat School in the Hammon area.
On August 4, 1938 Naomi was united in marriage to Dale Boone Graybill in Clinton, OK. Dale began calling her “Toots” and the name has remained with her throughout the years. Dale and Naomi had one daughter, Deanna. They made their home on a farm south of Leedey where they farmed and Dale worked as a dirt contractor.
In 1975, they moved to Woodward, OK where they lived for two years before moving to Oklahoma City, OK. Toots remained in her home until October, 2014, when she moved to the Village On the Park Assisted Living in Oklahoma City.
Naomi was a member of the Leedey First Baptist Church while living in the Leedey area and a member of Knob Hill Baptist Church in Oklahoma City.
Toots was a huge OKC Thunder fan who loved to watch them play. She also enjoyed traveling, cooking and was a very competitive card player. She was always up for a trip to the casino, even making a trip just a week prior to her death.
Naomi is survived by her son-in-law, Billy Barney of Weatherford, OK; her granddaughter Melinda Billings and husband, Gary of Yukon, OK; her grandson Glen Barney and wife, Becky of Weatherford, OK; her great-grandsons Brock Billings of Tulsa, OK; Blake Billings of Las Vegas, NV; R.C. Strout of Weatherford, OK; Zach Barney of Weatherford, OK. She was preceded in death by her parents Charles Albright and Lillie Flynt; husband, Dale Graybill, daughter Deanna Barney, two sisters, Eudella and Juanita; six brothers, Asa, Bernie, Carlie, Luther, Orval and Theodore (Ted).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the charity of their choice.
Graveside services were held Thursday, March 12, 2015 at 11:00 am at the Red Star Cemetery, Leedey, OK. Condolences may be made to the family at shawfurneralhome.net. Shaw Funeral Home of Leedey.
