Flake Monroe Hammond was born January 8, 1880 at Montague, Texas. He departed this life May 11, 1964 at Toppenish, Washington. He was united in marriage to Susie Cash Powers who preceded him in death. Three brothers and one sister also preceded him in death.
He is survived by one daughter, Letha Whitis of Toppenish, Washington, one son, Al Hammond of Cheyenne and one stepson, Jack Powers of Oklahoma City, seven grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and one great, great grandchild.
He was laid to rest in the Cheyenne Cemetery with Scroggins and Son in charge of arrangements.
