Bob grew up in Dumas, Texas. He mainly lived in the Texas Panhandle and western Oklahoma working in the petroleum industry and as an iron worker. He moved to Sayre in 2002 to make his home. He really loved fishing, spending time with his family and the Sunday night country music oldies show on KECO radio. Anyone who knew him would say arguing was one of his strong points. Bob’s heroes were always his mother and grandfather and he knew that greatest thing a person could ever leave behind was his legacy through family, and that was what he lived for. Bob was a beloved grandfather living through his grandchildren’s eyes. They kneww him as “Pappy” and their eyes would light up everytime they saw him. He lived his lifed one day at a time as if there was no tomorrow. He will be deeply missed, but always remembered by the people whose lives he had touched through his friendship.
He was preceded in death by his father. He is survived by his son, Bodie Hoover and wife, Meleah, Sayre; three daughters, Elisha Trissell, Cheyenne, Charlotte Trissell, Oklahoma City and Angela Baron, Warren Pa.; his mother, Fern Churchman, Austin, Texas; one brother, Danny Hoover, Amarillo; one sister, Carol Haseloff, Austin; eight grandchildren and several other relatives and friends.
