HUNT, Nola M. (Johnson) Potter

Nola Marguerite Johnson Potter Hunt, of Elk City, Oklahoma was born on September 9, 1928 in Butler, Oklahoma. She is the daughter of James Peter and Flora Belle (Cogburn) Johnson. Nola passed away on Monday, February 16, 2015 at OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Nola was eighty-six years old, she lived a full and colorful life plus was a lifelong resident of Strong City and Elk City. She was a dedicated member of the United Methodist Church and UMC. Nola thoroughly enjoyed her trips with the Methodist Travelers. She was an entrepreneurial business woman in Elk City for most of her life as well as a supporter of many local charities. An avid card and domino player, she spend many hours with good friends.
Nola was a lifetime member of the Western Oklahoma Historical Society and donated several artifacts to the Old Town Museum.
A celebration of life will be held 2:00 p.m., Friday, February 20, 2015 at Martin-Dugger Funeral Home Chapel in Elk City, Oklahoma. Rev. Terry Koehn will officiate. Interment will be at Fairlawn Cemetery in Elk City, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of Martin-Dugger Funeral Home in Elk City, Oklahoma.
She is survived by her daughter, Mitzie Smith and her husband, Waylon; a son, Robert (Rusty) Hunt; stepdaughters, Julie Baker and her husband Bill, Mary Frances Hunt; granddaughter, Haley; several much loved nieces and nephews.
Nola is preceded in death by her husbands, Robert H. Potter who preceded her in 1964 and William Franklin Hunt who preceded her in 1990; parents, J.P. and Flora Johnson; stepson, Frank Hunt
