Funeral services for Margarette Jencks will be conducted Saturday, January 21, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. from the Martin Funeral Chapel with Rev. Judy Timms officiating. Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of the Martin Funeral Home of Elk City.
Margarette Lois Jencks was born May 26, 1929 at Cheyenne, Oklahoma to Vernon and Nettie (Marshall) Jencks and passed away Thursday, January 19, 2012 at the age of 82. She attended Cheyenne School before moving to California with her family. She was married to Floyd Wells on January 24, 1948 and they returned to Oklahoma. With the exception of some 20 years in Texas, Mrs. Jencks has lived in Elk City. She loved to fish, garden and sew. Margarette was preceded in death by her parents, an infant son, 2 brothers, a sister, and 2 great granddaughters.
Survivors include 5 children: Bessie Brantner of Houston, TX, Fay Casey of Elk City, Rowdy Wells of Elk City, Frieda Melzer and her husband Steven of Elk City, Jo Ann Blaylock of Elk City, 13 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, 5 sisters, Marie Ferguson of Clinton, Rosie Sweetman of Altus, Louise Schweyer of Muldrow, OK, Opal Jones of Altus, Christgine McCann of Las Vegas, NV and 2 brothers, Jim Jencks of Greenleaf, ID and Steve Jencks of Naperviklle, IL.
