KAUK, Zettie

Zettie Kauk was born April 13, 1927 at the family farm north of Butler. She passed from this life Wednesday, April 1, 2015 in Elk City, Oklahoma at the age of 87. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Leedey, but worshipped with the Pioneer Church of Christ in Elk City after moving to the Bell Avenue Nursing Home in 2008. She married Calvin “Cappie” Kauk on August 18, 1945, a union that lasted 67 years until his death in 2012.
Zettie is survived by daughter Cheryl Stringer and husband Tommy of Corsicana, Texas; son Keith Kauk and wife Mona of Atlanta, Georgia, granddaughters Angie Stone and husband Byron of San Antonio, Texas; Julie Ouchley and husband Jeremy of Boise, Idaho; Shanele Mason and husband Jim of Columbus, Ohio; and Sherri Kauk of Los Angeles, California; six great-grandchildren (Maggie and Kiera Mason; Evan, Natalie and Sarah Stone; and Hudson Ouchley); brother Delano Ramsey and wife Judy of Butler, Oklahoma; sisters Virginia Starks and husband Paul of Garner, North Carolina, Janice Hadley of Alvarado, Texas and Darlene Gooch and husband Ernie of Cincinnati, Ohio, a number of nieces and nephews; and a lifetime of friends. Zettie’s family sends a special thank you to the staff at Bell Avenue Nursing Center for the love and care they provided and to family and friends who visited through her stay there.
Preceding Zettie in death are her parents, Frank and Hazel Ramsey; brother, Buford Ramsey and sisters Twila Roper and Judy Goldsberry.
