Robert E. Kerr was born September 20, 1928 in Mayfield, Oklahoma to George and Elsie (Alexander) Kerr. He passed away March 22, 2015 at Clinton, Oklahoma at the age of 85 years, six months and two days.
Robert grew up in the Mayfield and Sweetwater communities where he also attended school . After graduation, he enlisted in the US Navy and retired after twenty two years of service. After his discharge, he made his home in Alabama where he worked in a metal foundry for over twenty years before returning to Oklahoma to care for his parents and settling in Erick in the community. Robert loved working with his hands and enjoyed working on engines and doing carpentry work.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, an infant brother, Billy and a sister, Laura Williams. He is survived by his two sisters, Georgia Reed, Sweetwater, OK and Norma Cook, Amarillo, TX; one brother, Eddie Kerr, Amarillo, TX; a stepson, Robert Scott, Alabama and many nieces , nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
