KIRK, Kenneth Gearle

Kenneth Gearle Kirk was born August 28, 1945 in Sayre, Oklahoma to Freda Mae and Elmo Wade Kirk. He passed away December 21, 2014 at Crawford, Oklahoma at the age of 69 years, three months and twenty three days.
Kenneth grew up in the Grimes community and went to school at Berlin graduating in 1963. After graduation he furthered his education at Southwestern Oklahoma Sate University for a short period before coming back to Cheyenne where he worked as a mechanic for Ted Haight. He was married to Linda Sue (Leddy) Kirk at Roll, Oklahoma on July 1, 1966 and a month later Kenneth was drafted into the United States Army where he was stationed at Ft. Sill and also served a tour in Vietnam. After his discharge, he began working for the U.S. Forestry Service in Cheyenne. In the early 70s Kenneth and Linda moved to the farm east of Roll to make their home. Kenneth enjoyed mechanicing, raising cattle and farm life.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Gordon Kirk, Jerry “Doc” Kirk, Rodney Kirk and a sister, Louise Walker.
He is survived by his wife, Linda of the home, one daughter, Miklyn Moore and husband, Rodney, Cheyenne, OK; one son, Rory Kirk and wife, Ellen, Cheyenne, OK; three grandchildren, Meleah Hoover, and Samantha Titone and Hayley Kirk, three great grandchildren, Lexi Hoover and Makyla Hoover and Chloe Hoover, three brothers, George Kirk, Cheyenne, OK; and Wade Kirk and wife, Nelda, McClain, Texas and Wallice Kirk and wife, Glenda, Cheyenne, OK; four sisters, Dianna Conway, Cheyenne, OK; and Betty Keahey and husband, Richard, Roll OK; and Sharon Tignor and husband, Dickie, Grimes, OK; and Margie Anderson and husband, John, Sweetwater, OK; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
The family will hold a memorial service at a later time.

A graveside memorial service was held at the Silent Home Cemetery on January 4, 2015 with many relatives and friends attending in the cold winter weather.
