Merle Eugene Little was born on September 13th, 1929 in Shattuck, Oklahoma. Merle departed this life on December 10th, 2011, leaving behind his wife, Loretta “June” Little; one brother, Kenneth Wayne Williamson; five children, Rodney Merle Little, Becky Jo Wakely, Michelle Stone, and Travis and Curt Rooms; eleven grandchildren, Larry and Dustin Little, Kaci Satepauhoodle, Christopher Coughran, Hunter, Ethan and Hannah Stone, Caitlyn, Taryn and Riley Rooms, and Constance Campbell; and one great grandchild, Kiley Green. He is preceded in death by his mother Vimba and step-father Dan Williamson, and father Claud and step-mother Masbel Little; as well as four siblings, Francis Ardis, Bessie Gates, Leroy Williamson, and Glenda Ann Cartner.
Merle believed in family and one’s role within their community. This was evident at an early age with his enlistment into the Marine Corps at just 17. Merle volunteered his time in support of Church Youth Groups and served as the Church Choir member and Director. He was instrumental in starting the Youth Baseball program in Pauls Valley, OK where he coached for 18 years. Not only did Merle give to the community in his personal life, his professional endeavors reflects this same dedication to people until he retired at the aged of 75. Merle enjoyed spending time with his family traveling with his wife and watching OU football.
Service were held at 2pm, Wednesday, December 14, 2011 in the Candlewood Chapel and Fors Funeral Service, Midwest City, Oklahoma.
