Elizabeth “Betty” Lucas, 90 of Sunray, Texas passed away on Monday, December 22, 2014. A memorial service is scheduled for 1 o’clock in the afternoon on Saturday, January 3, 2015 at First United Methodist Church in Sunray, Texas with Richie Brown, pastor of Amarillo Fellowship Church, officiating. Arrangements are entrusted Morrison Funeral Directors.
Betty was born February 8, 1924, to Ellis and Lulu (Nellett) Hamson in Philadelphia, PA. She had been a resident of Sunray for the past sixty two years. Betty was a devoted homemaker and sold Avon Products for more than twenty five years. She was a member of the United Methodist Church. She will be dearly missed.
She is preceded in death by infant daughter, Catherine Lucas and two sisters: Adelyne Carnes and Grace Helmer.
Betty is survived by her husband, Clarence; a son, Claude Ellis Lucas and wife Deborah of Amarillo; five grandchildren: Vincent Carmen and wife Christine of Radcliffe, KY, Clarence Lucas and wife Danella of Pampa, Texas; Elizabeth (Beth) Lucas, Claude Lucas, Jr. and Katrina Ledbetter all of Amarillo; a sister, Evelyn Harland of Wichita, Kansas; a brother, Ellis S. Hamson of Maple Shade, NJ; six great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
The family suggests memorials be made to a favorite charity.
