Loyd D. McCoy of Lindsay, Oklahoma passed from this earthly life on Saturday, November 19, 2011 at his home at the age of 69. He was born in Redmoon, Oklahoma on December 11, 1941 to C.E. McCoy, Sr. and Daisy Modena (Messer) McCoy. Loyd was baptized in the Washita River in 1955.
Loyd was raised in Reydon, Oklahoma. He married Patricia “Pat” Murdock on July 26, 1974 in Perryton, Texas. He and Pat moved to Lindsay in 2004 after living in Clinton, Oklahoma for twenty years. Loyd worked in the oilfield for thirty-seven years, working for Western Company of North America and B.J. Services. He enjoyed wood work and building things, but farming was his true love. He also loved fishing and truck driving, but most of all he loved his wife, his kids and his grandkids.
Mr. McCoy is survived by his wife, Pat McCoy of Lindsay, Oklahoma; his sons, Billy Earl McCoy of Durham, Oklahoma, Billy Wayne Ayers and wife Gaylene of Arapaho, Oklahoma and his daughter, Raylene Ray and husband Tony of Foss, Oklahoma, Tammy Downey and husband Leonard of Lindsay, Oklahoma and Lynn Martin and husband Sandy of Longview, Texas, Loyd also leaves behind fourteen grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren.
Mr. McCoy was preceded in death by his parents, C.E. and Daisy McCoy, three brothers, three sisters and one grandson, Cory Ayers, as well as all four of his grandparents.
Funeral services were held Yuesday, November 22nd, 2011 at the First Baptist Church, located at 401 S.W. 3rd Street in Lindsay, Oklahoma with Pastor Randy Allen officiating. Interment will follow at Green Hill Cemetery in Lindsay. Services are under the direction of B.G. Boydston Funeral Home of Lindsay, Oklahoma.
