Millington, Clayton Blake

Graveside services for Claytobn Millington will be conducted Wednesday Feb. 1, 2012 art 2:00 p.m. from the Berlin Cemetery of Berlin, Oklahoma under the direction of the Martin Funeral of Elk City. The family will be receiving visitors at the Martin Funeral Home before the Graveside service from 9:30 to noon. A memorial service will be conducted Friday February 3, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. from the Crossings Community Church Chapel in Oklahoma City.
Dr. Clayton Blake Millington, 84, of Yukon, formerly a resident of Stillwater died Sunday, January 29, 2012. Clayton the son of Chester and Fay Millington was born Dec. 4, 1927, in Elk City. He grew up on a farm near Berlin, where he graduated fromm Berlin High School in 1946. He received a BS in Business Education from Oklahoma A&M and a Commission in the US Air Force in 1951. On June 28, 1951, Clayton and Patsy “Pat” Unterkircher were married in Okemah. Clayon spent two years on active duty and many years in the reserves, retiring as a Lt. Colonel in 1977.
Clayton received a Masters in Business Education from OSU in 1956. From 1957-1960 he was a full time instructor and at the same time completed the course work for a PhD at Michigan State. In 1960 Clayton and his family returned to OSU where he was employed as an instructor of economics and Director of the Oklahoma Council on Economic Education. He later served as Director of Business Extension at OSU. He receiced his PhD in Business Administrationb from Michigan State in 1964. He also served as the Representative of the Joint Council on Economics Education for the Southeastern Quarter of the United States. He taught business writing and economics the last three years before retiring in May, 1986.
Clayton is survived by his wife Pat, their son Phil and daughter-in-law, Pam Millington of Edmond; son Eric and daughter-in-law, Janell Millington of Tulsa; grandchildren Jacob Millington and Emily Millington of Virginia: Michelle and her husband, Dr. Matthew Fowler of Tulsa; Matthew and his wife Patricia Millington of Keller, Texas; Michael Millington of Lubbock, Texas; Meredith and Madison Millington of Tulsa; great-grandchildren, Evelyn and Rowan Fowler of Tulsa and Jake Millington of Keller, Texas; and aunt, Christine Goodwin of Cordell, Oklahoma and many cousins and friends.
