MORRISON, Billy Joe

Billy Joe Morrison, 81, of Wheeler, Texas was born on August 11, 1934. He is the son of Deward Leland and Opal (Byers) Morrison. Billy went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, January 22, 2016 at Great Plains Regional Hospital in Elk City, Oklahoma.
He served his country proudly in the United States Army. Billy married his best friend and sweetheart Betty Jean Ogletree on October 17, 1959 in Muleshoe, Texas. She preceded him in death on August 8, 2015.
Billy enjoyed playing dominoes, cards, going to auctions, watching Texas Tech football and hanging out at the coffee shop. He was known as one that never met a stranger. Billy loved spending time with his family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was a member of the NRA. Billy was also a member of the Wheeler First Baptist Church.
Private family services will be held in Abilene, Texas. Services have been entrusted to Martin-Dugger Funeral Home.
Billy is survived by his two sons, Clifton Ward Morrison, Anson, Texas, William J. Morrison of Elk City, Oklahoma; two daughters, Rhonda Robertson of Reydon, Oklahoma, Teresa Westcott of Elk City, Oklahoma; twelve grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren; two brothers, D.L. Morrison, Jr. of Rio Rancho, New Mexico, Jimmy Morrison of Rockport, Texas.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Deward and Opal Morrison; grandson, Wesley Ryan McIntyre; sister, Glynna Morrison; brother, Duane Morrison.
