MUSICK, T. J.

A viewing for T.J. Musick, 71, Foss Lake Estates resident will be held 8:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 10, 2015 and Wednesday March 11, 2015 at the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home, Clinton, OK. His passing will be honored “His Way”; he did not want a traditional funeral; he wanted a large celebration of his life — so his friends and family will be doing a “TJ Musick Memorial Cook-out” at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, March 14, 2015 in his Barn at the Foss Lake Estate Home.
TJ Musick was born March 21, 1943 to Elmer “Scooter” Musick and Nellie Ruth (Varnell) Musick in Wheeler, TX and passed away early Monday, March 9, 2015 in his Foss Lake Estates home in Foss, Oklahoma.
Mr. Musick was raised in Cheyenne, OK and he graduated from Cheyenne High School in 1962. He worked at the local Feed Store before starting a career with Helmerich and Payne International Drilling Company in 1967, where he worked for 38 years. He was a drilling superintendent for thirty years of that time and watched over drilling rigs all over Utah, Wyoming, Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi and Oklahoma.
He has made his homes in Cheyenne, OK; Bib Piney, WY; Oklahoma City, OK and Foss Lake, OK as well as Cloudcroft, New Mexico.
Upon his retirement, TJ started working with the local FFA groups and had a great time showing animals with his stepsons, grandson and great grandson. He also got back into coon hunting with all his grandchildren and of course his most favorite hobby was fishing and big cookouts. In the last few years he and his wife, Laura took up traveling and made many wonderful trips over the United States from the mountains of Montana to the City Lights of Chicago. He was also a big sports fan and loved to watch bull riding
He was preceded in death by his parents, two wives, Clara Faye Wyrick and Dorothy (Siler), a sister, Opal Faye Butler and three brothers, E.L., Johnnie and Roger Musick.
He is survived by his wife, Laura Musick of the home, two daughters, Tammy Jeffrey of Butler, OK; Gloria Handke and husband, Doug of Foss Lake, OK and a daughter of his heart, Carrie Dawn Lovett, of Cheyenne, OK; two stepsons; sons Kevin Miller and wife, Krissy, Cloud Croft NM and David Miller and his wife Clarissa, of Foss Lake, OK.
He is also survived by seven grandchildren, Valisha McClellan, Rowdy Hartley, Travis Hartley and wife, Evie, Cody Jeffery and wife, Amber, Tanya Rockhold, Tyler Miller and Dayson Miller; ten great grandchildren, Keaton, Kyle, Kaden, KayDee, Kadence, Gunner, Cutter, Adrien, Cory and Clara Faye and a wealth of friends.
