OLSEN, Ole C.

Ole C. Olson, 77, of Amarillo, died Saturday, July 26, 2015. Services will be at 4:30 p.m., Tuesday, July 28, 2015 in Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel with Dr. Burt Palmer, Sr. pastor of Polk Street United Methodist Church officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Ole was born on November 17, 1937 in Roger Mills County, OK to Leon and Ruth Olson. He graduated from Berlin High School and Oklahoma City University, where he earned an Associate’s Degree. He worked for Zeigler-Wimberly in Tulia, Texas, First Supply in Stratford and A&I Drive-Train. Ole owned and operated Olson Automotive Machine and Supply for many years. He also owned Olson Distributing in Amarillo and Stratford, He was a mentor to many young and old. He farmed throughout his life in Sherman and Potter County. He loved to play golf at Amarillo Country Club and Tascosa Golf Club. He was a member of Polk Street United Methodist Church. Ole was a wonderful father and a marvelous grandfather. He married Audrine Anderson on March 15, 1960 in Shamrock, Texas. He is survived by his wife, Audrine Olson, of the home, a son, Ricky Don Olson and Lesa Wood, Lubbock, a daughter, Sheronda Olson Greenwood and husband Dr. James L. Greenwood, Jr. of Dallas, three brothers, Benjamin Olson of Grimes, OK, Jimmy Olson of Plainview and Kenneth of Lubbock, three grandchildren, Clifton Lee Greenwood, Kylee Olson Daugherty and husband and Reed Olson Greenwood.
The family suggests memorials be made to Polk Street United Methodist Church, 1401 S. Polk, Amarillo, Texas 79101, or the American Cancer Society, 3915 Bell St., Amarillo, TX 79109.
{Albert Fuchs wrote that Ole “Shorty” went to school at a one room school in Grimes, OK with me. Took up for me a time or two when I was bullied by older boys. He was a good person.}
