Funeral services for Merle Orgain were counducted Tuesdazy, January 10, 2012 from the A.G. Creach Auditorium of Hammon with Richard Hughes and Dolan Ivey officiating. Interment in the Red Hill Cemetery under the direction of Martin Funeral Home of Elk City, Oklahoma.
Essie Merle Orgain was born March 2, 1926 at Cloud Chief, OK to Logan and Willie (Hunt) Foster and passed away Sunday, January 8, 2012 at the age of 85. Merle graduated from Hammon High School and was married to Carl Orgain on October 5, 1945. She has lived in the Hammon Community all of her married life. Merle was a wife, mother, grandmother “Mamaw”, homemaker, member of the American Legion Auixiliary and Moorewood Missionary Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by a son, Stephen R. Orgain, her parents, a grandson, Josh Smith and three sisters, Bernice Trout, Pauline Barnes and Jeanie Armstrong.
Survivors include her husband, Carl Orgain of the Hammon home, son, Dennie Orgain and wife Judy of Mustang, Oklahoma; granddaughter, Alexia Orgasin Lowry and husband Randy of Sayre, OK; great grandchildren, Aaron and Amanda; granddaughyter, Amy Orgain Tatum and husband Tab of Tuttle, OK; great grandchildren , Ty, Tate and Tabe; grandson, Jake Smith and wife Carrie of Mustang, OK; 1 great granddaughter on the way; grandson, Jarrod Smith and wife Brooke of Yukon, OK; son, Greg orgain and wife Debbie of Hammon, OK; grandson, Andy Orgain and wife Allana of Tulsa, OK; great grandchildren Alex and Aiden; grandsons, Alan Orgain of Eunice, LA, Austin Orgain of Hammon, OK; 1 brother, Dale Foster and wife Linda of Sallisaw, OK; sister-in-law, Doloryce Williams of Elk City, OK; brother-in-law, LeRoy Orgain of Redmon, OR and a host of nieces and nephews.
The family asks memorials in Merle’s name made to the Hammon Senior Citizensa Center, PO Box 218, Hammon, OK 73650.
