Billy Joe Patton, 62, of Elk City, Oklahoma was born on June 18, 1952 in Elk City, Oklahoma. He is the son of Bill and Marjorie Jo (Bentley) Patton. Joe passed away on March 16, 2015, at his residence in Elk City, Oklahoma.
From a young age, Joe had a love for horses. They were his lifetime hobby; he grew up riding in rodeos, as a bull rider, bronc rider and calf roper. Later, he enjoyed life as a horse trainer. Joe was a hard worker and had a big heart.
He loved his Mom and Dad and spent his last days taking care of them and their home of forty years. He is loved and will be missed by his family and friends. Joe was a member of the Eastside Baptist Church of Elk City, Oklahoma. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, March 19, 2015 at Martin-Dugger Funeral Home in Elk City, Oklahoma. Andy Taylor will officiate and he will be assisted by Sean Estes. Interment will be held at 2:00 pm, Shirley Cemetery in Leedey, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of Martin-Dugger Funeral Home in Elk City, Oklahoma.
He is survived by his parents, Bill and Marjorie Patton of Elk City, Oklahoma; brother, Rick Patton and his wife, Rena of Amarillo, Texas; sisters, Sue Hayes and Jeanne West and her husband, Tom all of Edmond, Oklahoma; children, Joe Patton, Jr. of Edmond, Oklahoma, Amee Childers of Gunther, Texas; grandchildren: Colton del Bosque and Jacee Childers; nieces and nephews; Chandy, PW, Amber, Tyler, Kate, Stan and their children, Harrison, Jackson, Claire, Piper and Jantz.
