Arnold Rice was born August 4, 1927 in Sweetwater, Oklahoma to Lela Mae and Albert “Brownie” Rice. He passed away March 31, 2012 at Sayre, Oklahoma at the age of 84 yers, 7 months and 27 days.
Arnold moved with his parents to California where he graduated from high school in Whittier, California. He returned to Sweetwater and began farming and ranching. He was married to Bonnie Mae (Payne) at Wheeler, Texas on August 23, 1949. He began working for the Santa Fe Railroad for two years before he entered the United States Army in 1952 and served his country during the Kotrean Conflict. After his discharge he returned to farming and ranching. He worked for a numbee of yeara at the furniture factory in Elk City.
He was a member of the Sweetwater First Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Bonnie, Sweetwater, OK; nieces and nephews, Maybelle Worley and husband Tom , Sayre, OK, Judy Clay and husband, Ray, Reydon, OK; sister-in-law, Inez Abell, Coolidge, AZ; and a host of other relatives anf firends.
Services will be held Tuesday April 3, 2012 atr 10:30 a.m. at Sweetwater First Baptist Church officiated by Ed Wrather. Burial will be at Mulberry Cemetery under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service. Condolences can be made online at swww.whineryfs.com
